Where purpose is not known

Where purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable – Dr. Myles Munroe

This is truly one of my favorite quotes by Dr. Myles Munroe.  When we think of abuse, sometimes it’s easy to think of a man hitting a woman.  Men are stronger and it’s sad that we hear the stories weekly in the news.  However, imagine the person hitting themselves.  That’s the severity of not knowing your purpose.  You are subjecting yourself to emotional abuse of not truly giving yourself permission to walk in the abundance of who you are.  I can recall looking into the eyes of my newborn son just before I told my job that I was resigning.  I decided to follow my dreams and no longer wake up day after day and do something I new deep down within that I was not called to do.  For a few weeks leading up to this decision, I would wake up wiping tears from my eyes.  I knew that work was approaching and I was in torment.  My soul was being abused and it was by me.  That was a hard pill to swallow.  It was my lack of boldness to take a risk to step out on my dreams that was causing the damage.  I made the decision to follow the core sound of who I was created to be and I haven’t stopped singing.  It’s the greatest feeling.  I encourage everyone embrace yourself and live in purpose.
